The the 2018 WWE Super Show-Down was a smash hit at the MCG with a huge live audience at the iconic stadium and millions around the globe tuning in.
WWE Super Show-Down became the largest WWE event held in Australia, surpassing the Global Warning event in 2002 at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium, which attracted 56,743.
Melbourne’s Herald Sun was lavish in its review: ” It was a rumble in the MCG jungle as the world’s biggest wrestling stars took over the stadium last night, setting the arena into a frenzy in a night of entertainment that set new crowd records.
“More than 75,000 fans packed the arena to watch global wrestling’s biggest names John Cena, Ronda Rousey, Triple H, The Undertaker, Roman Reigns, Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton.
“Melbourne took centre stage last night as the WWE Super ShowDown was beamed to 180 countries and on pay-per-view. The home of football was transformed into a wrestling wonderland, with a ring placed in the middle of the ground with chants, songs and roars flooding the air from around the stadium as one of the world’s biggest spectacles hit town, pumping more than $22.3 million into the state economy.”
In partnership with TEG Dainty, WWE returned to Australia with WWE Super Show-Down on Saturday 6 October 2018, featuring the largest roster of WWE Superstars and Legends ever to appear in the country.
