Qudos Bank Arena ranked 6th in the world among global arenas

Qudos Bank Arena has been ranked 6th in the world among global venues in a report by the internationally respected industry publication Venues Today.

This puts Qudos Bank Arena in the same echelon as London’s O2 Arena, New York’s Madison Square Gardens and the Staples Centre in LA, which are the top three. TEG, Australasia’s leading Ticketing, Live Entertainment and Data Analytics company, is the long-term leasehold owner of Qudos Bank Arena.

TEG CEO Geoff Jones has welcomed the Venue Today accolade, which confirms Qudos Bank Arena as the #1 indoor sports and entertainment venue in the Asia Pacific region.

“Qudos Bank Arena is a great success story for NSW and Sydney as a major driver in the sports, entertainment, tourism and hospitality sectors,” said Jones.

“The arena facilitates the joy of live entertainment for millions of fans, and just as importantly creates jobs and economic activity.

“Qudos Bank Arena is a key legacy asset for TEG and I am proud of our stewardship of the arena, which has fulfilled its potential after some difficult post-Olympics years.”

The Venues Today report measured the 15 years between 2002-17. In that period, Qudos Bank Arena hosted 880 concerts attended by 6,801,445 fans.

There were 276 other events such as UFC, WWE, Monster Trucks, NBL basketball, netball and business events, bringing the overall total to 1,156 events attended by 9,635,816 people.

The statistics show that 85% of ticket sales at Qudos Bank Arena came from the Greater Sydney area, with the rest coming from regional NSW, interstate and international guests.
