TEG, Asia Pacific’s largest integrated live entertainment company, has helped light up the Melbourne summer with the first six concerts across all four Melbourne Park venues as they re-opened in February after the 2019 Australian Open.
The opening live events for this year at the iconic venues were promoted by TEG Dainty and TEG Live.
Phil Collins Not Dead Yet Tour – AAMI Park – 1 & 2 February
The Prodigy No Tourists – Melbourne Arena – 1 February
Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators – Margaret Court Arena – 1 February
Keith Urban Graffiti U Tour – Rod Laver Arena – 5 & 6 February
TEG CEO Geoff Jones said he is delighted TEG’s live entertainment pipeline produced such a stellar line-up at Melbourne Park.
“TEG promotes live entertainment at Melbourne Park all year round, but it was fabulous to start the year after the Australian Open with six fantastic shows inside a week taking in all four venues,” said Jones.
“The fans and artists love the venues at Melbourne Park and we really value our strong relationship with the Melbourne Park management in putting on shows.
“Melbourne Park is renowned as one of the best entertainment precincts in the world. It is difficult to think of anywhere else that can accommodate the diversity of content in such a concentrated period so close to the CBD of an international city.
“I’m proud of the TEG Dainty and TEG Live teams who were able to light up the Melbourne summer with some great live entertainment.”
Paul Dainty, the President and CEO of TEG Dainty, said he and his team have come to appreciate the great facilities at Melbourne Park.
“We had Phil Collins at AAMI Park and Slash at Margaret Court Arena on the same night on 1 February and fortunately the access and proximity means we could manage both events on the run,” said Dainty. “There’s hardly anywhere else in the world where we could contemplate these logistics.”
To add to a huge night for the precinct, TEG Live presented The Prodigy at the same time at Melbourne Arena.
Tim McGregor, Managing Director of TEG Live, said Melbourne Park offers an amenity and flexibility that sets benchmarks.
“TEG Live promotes a wide variety of live content at Melbourne Park, from esports to international basketball and live music with a huge range of production needs,” said McGregor. “The venues are excellent and so is the management team at Melbourne Park. We look forward to building our strong presence.”
