TEG exhibition sets 100,000 attendance benchmark

The TEG promotion of the Wonders of the World exhibition has set a new benchmark of 100,000 visitors. The exhibition recreates global landmarks using LEGO® and has been staged at Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, the national museum and art gallery in Wellington.

Wonders of the World opened in mid-December and its extended season concludes on Sunday 18 February.

TEG CEO Geoff Jones said TEG is thrilled by the popularity of the exhibition and the support of the Wellington community and tourists to the capital.

“A successful exhibition needs so many elements to fall into place and I am delighted to say that has been the case with Wonders of the World,” said Jones.

“The timing on the holiday calendar and some clever promotion were essential and I must pay tribute to everyone at Te Papa. It is a majestic building in a great location and the management have been thoroughly professional.

“There is no doubt that LEGO® is a phenomenon that spans the generations and that has been reflected in the huge diversity of the audiences. I congratulate all involved.”

The Wonders of the World exhibition travels to Claudelands Arena in Hamilton and re-opens on Saturday 3 March before moving to Auckland as part of the New Zealand tour.

The Wonders of the World includes scale replicas of the Empire State Building, Arc De Triomphe, Big Ben and other world-famous landmarks in a fully interactive, educational experience.
