Texas Celebrate 35th Anniversary With Two Exclusive Australian Shows

34 years since the release of their iconic hit ‘I Don’t Want A Lover’, and one of the UK’s most beloved groups Texas will be making a very special trip down under in 2024 to blow out the candles on their 35th anniversary cake, with two exclusive shows.

After performing to sold out shows around the country during their first ever Australian trip in 2017, the iconic Scottish group will once again return, this time for an extremely limited two-show tour, with special performances taking place at Melbourne’s Forum, and Sydney’s Enmore.

In addition to the upcoming Australian anniversary performances, the band will also be celebrating with a Special New 2LP & 2CD Compilation titled ‘The Very Best Of 1989 – 2023’ which will take fans on a journey through more than three decades of the hits that made Texas a multi award winning act with more than 40 million sales across 10 highly acclaimed records.

There’s the collaboration with The Wu-Tang Clan. The five tracks that were Top 10 singles from one album. The one with Alan Rickman in the video. The one that was remixed by Giorgio Moroder. The one that was an inspired Al Green cover. The other one with Wu-Tang Clan. The two tracks that were written with diverse titans of American music, Dallas Austin and Gregg Alexander. The one that helped give them their first French Number One album. The one with the video directed by Peter Kay. The one that gave them, straight out of the gate, a Top 10 single with their first ever release. The club banger with a killer Donna Summer sample. And the one that ended up the theme song to a top-rating American sitcom by the name of ‘Ellen’.

Not bad for a hairdresser fae Glasgow!says Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri. But I gotta be honest: I still feel like I’m really close to the beginning. And the energy and the vibe between us all – as a band I don’t think we’ve ever been happier, and I don’t think we’ve ever been tighter. And I don’t think we’ve ever been more definite about who we are.

Having recently blown away audiences with their recent performance on Glastonbury’s iconic Pyramid stage, Texas have now set their sights on Australia in 2024 for two extremely special shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
