COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (April 11, 2024) – USA Basketball today announced that the USA Basketball Women’s National Team will play the German Women’s National Team at London’s O2 Arena on July 23, as part of the 2024 USA Basketball Showcase ahead of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The USA Basketball Showcase features a series of games that help USA Basketball national teams prepare for major competitions, including the FIBA World Cup and Olympic Games. The USA Men’s National Team will play South Sudan and Germany at O2 Arena on July 20 and July 22, respectively.

Hosted in partnership between USA Basketball and TEG Sport, the USA Women’s National Team’s matchup with Germany will mark the U.S. women’s first visit to London since winning the gold medal at the 2012 Olympics.

Tickets for the game will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, April 16 at 9 a.m. BST at www.usab.com/tickets.

“USA Basketball is looking forward to adding our women’s national team to the USA Basketball Showcase in London,” said Jim Tooley, CEO, USA Basketball. “Not only will playing Germany provide a great opportunity for our team, but it will highlight the growth of women’s basketball around the world as we prepare to defend our gold medal in Paris.”

In addition to the United States’ games in London, the Great Britain men’s national team will take on South Sudan on July 18 and the Great Britain women’s national team will take on Germany on July 21.

The USA officially qualified for the Olympic Games 2024 after winning its 11th World title at the 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup. The USA women are seeking their eighth straight– and 10th overall – Olympic gold medal.

In total, USA Basketball will be represented by four teams at the Olympic Games 2024, including 5-on-5 men and women and 3×3 men and women.
